I started in the 1990s as a sysadmin at Goodnet, Arizona's first dynamic hosting company. Thirty years later I have built and defended systems at nearly every scale in between — which is exactly why I now run a one-person consultancy in Chandler.
At GoDaddy I was a lead platform security engineer and built Cerberus, the internal web application firewall that protected tens of millions of sites, and I spoke about that work at GoDaddy Techfest. I then co-founded WebIron and its Dark Sources project — building an AI-driven WAF, working with nearly 400 petabytes of breached data, and serving more than 1,000 small and mid-sized clients.
From there I moved into security orchestration as a SOAR architect for Fortune 500 clients at Phoenix Cyber and CFC Response, designing platforms and automating the work that burns out security teams.
I started Lono Security so small businesses could get the same caliber of security without enterprise pricing. That level of defense work is mostly out of reach for a local business, and it shouldn't be. I also work part-time with kids at Arion Care, which keeps me honest about what matters: people first, including mine.
